@ryanrozich The lines about EdgeRouters and EdgeOS are about UI's EdgeRouters and EdgeOS, which are being revived with a GUI update. My comments on the UniFi UDM-Pro & UXG-Pro routers are in the first 2 paragraphs.

Yeah the 2100 has far more limitations mostly because it's arm based. The 6100 has none of those. Any card should work there as a PCIe device. The pfSense/FreeBSD wifi driver limitations still apply of course!

Nope not in the system log. The fact it doesn't show anything there is interesting though. You can also check the routing and dhcp logs for any events at that time. I would re-enable gateway monitoring and set it to something external like 8.8.8.8.

@SteveITS said in Replacement for SG 3100: @wgstarks The 2100 is a neat little device but is a bit CPU limited. If you thought there was any possibility of upgrading that download speed I would go with the 4100. I have fiber all around me but it’s unlikely to be available to me since my house is about half a mile from the highway. It cost me a small fortune to get the cable installed. I could upgrade my cable to a 1G plan but I doubt I will. The P2P I assume is running on your PC not the router? It’s running on an unRAID server. OTOH the 3100 won't stop working and per that other thread v23.09 will support it, and there's a chance they might release something else in the next 6 months. That’s great and I hadn’t thought it through all the way. Might wait to see if Netgate releases new hardware (seen a couple of hints) or maybe has a Black Friday special. FWIW I don't think Netgate planned on not supporting it either, the issue is FreeBSD stopped developing 32 bit processors. Yeah, I get that this wasn’t really on Netgate. Thanks for the advice.

@stephenw10 I don’t know if crash is the right wording now. Looks like on isp / wan ip change it can’t recover and gets hung.

It can't find the loader file. If you have a backup config the fastest way to get back up from that is to re-install the firmware clean and restore. Open a ticket to get the recovery image: https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request

After another reset I was able to finally set up the device. Indeed it did seem to have some configuration problem with DHCP. But its working now!

We need actual port numbers of some sort in pfSense at least because the order is not what might be expected given the NIC naming. It's very unlikely we would change it on something that has been released but all input is welcome for future products. Steve

I have a 6100 in my lab and it definitely supports VLANs just fine, I have a ton of them in my setup, so nothing to worry about there.

OK just to be clear you mean the 10G SFP ports (ix0 and ix1)? What are they linked as? Does the DHCP service actually stop? Are there errors logged?

@netboy Maybe netgate can "disable" or not show the "thermal sensor" widget for netgate 2100 - why show something which is not applicable to the hardware....

Quite possible that your terminal program isn't actually sending F2 when you press F2. If you're using something like PuTTY, make sure that under settings Terminal > Keyboard you set the function keys to Xterm R6. Other terminal applications may have similar settings. If that particular setting doesn't work, try another one, or try a different application to access the console. You might also be able to plug in a USB keyboard and press F2 on that.

Ah, nice. That's a good result then. Yes they must be using some thing out of band for the IP phone, which is good.
