Just script a SSH session that connects and download the config file ones a day.
There is not much to it.

System -> Update there are 2 Tabs to select the Branch.

This must match your Version you run. If you run 21.02 and you set up 2.4.5, you got no Packages.

Got exactly the same problem. Completely stuck now without internet!

The only multiport igb NIC guaranteed to work there is the one we sell which was extensively tested.
We have seen several reports like that specifically for multiport cards. The card and port status are detected correctly but no data can be passed.

Be sure you are running the latest Coreboot version.

I contacted Netgate support and got the install image, reinstalled the firmware and for now everything looks fine.

Mmm, that does seem non-standard. I would be reluctant to connect that to anything but the expected equipment TBH.

@gertjan The backup file didn't work (I had a couple).. I now have a fresh one in two locations (NAS and PC). A new UPS (to be purchased) and standby generator (due here on May 11th) are on my list of things to do.. I guess I will always request a new OS image when they issue one. I didn't have a copy of the latest version (only the config).

There would be no need for a warning or a rule, if the update was offered, yet left the packages to a specific branch, on the current installed branch. Thanks for the info.
