Retested on 24.11-RELEASE (amd64) all seems to work. So it seems right to file a bug for this issue.

@pulsartiger The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat. With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

So you're using the CARP IP address for the pfBlockerNG redirects? May I ask why that's necessary?

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

@EChondo What's your pfSense version ? The instructions are shown here : [image: 1753262126227-1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png] A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate. @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy: I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess. No need to wait x days. You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

Barring that, try again later and see if it still fails. I was able to successfully run the command on my 2.8.0 install (I didn't install it because I've already installed it) so it seems localized. Interesting. After I (reinstalled) tailscale the /etc/resolv.conf was overwritten. Hi again, to be honest: I guess, I did not remember exactly what I did 2 years ago. May I was mistaken by the interface name opt2 because the SG-3100 has a physical port OPT1 and I mixed up physical and virtual names. The goal was to use 2 different tunnels, one for the mobile clients and one for the site-2-site connection. And now all is running in that way . Regards

I have 1.2 release and cannot install any packages either.  when i check to see if the packages are installed via consol, squid shows up in the list, but the package install from the GUI says it fails.  I understand that this is currently a work in progress.  do i have to uninstall the package manually?  or will it re-download the newest and overwrite the current installation.  (squid is installed, but not working)  Does that make sense? Thanks, -Nate :)

@Cry: If you don't want to wait and are happy being unsupported, the forum contains details on installing FreeBSD (6.2) packages if you can find them. For instance: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,8460.0.html http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,8302.0.html http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7469.0.html The Search option is a wonderful thing ;)

You should fix your config. This means that the ruleset can't be loaded. Did you manually add a firewalrule for the squid redirection in your rules and is squid running on that box?

OK. Tnx. When you look at my fairly uncomplete list at the first post, what do you think can be done. I will open a bounty 100USD first to to some error checking and make the GUI more intuitive (e.g. radio button or checkbox for "static" or "connected", etc.) and as another guy (Mauve?) mentioned make the list of routes collapseable/expandable. then I guess filtering needs to be implemented - that would probably be another bouty to open. I'm sure there are some guys that will help increase. What do you think?

Oh jeez, sorry! I totally spaced on that. I shouldn't go away for a week and then not expect things to change :D Novice mistake, which I guess makes sense because I'm a novice when it comes to open source. By the way, speaking of hosting, I would click a donate button if you had a paypal link on the site… this isn't the right place to put that suggestion though so I'll find that place later. Anyways, FreeRadius works now! Time to tear this thing wide open...

Thanks for the replies folks.  Sounds like this will be something that will take a few hours per week to stay on top of, kind of like spam filtering…
