Retested on 24.11-RELEASE (amd64) all seems to work. So it seems right to file a bug for this issue.

@pulsartiger The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat. With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

@EChondo What's your pfSense version ? The instructions are shown here : [image: 1753262126227-1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png] A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate. @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy: I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess. No need to wait x days. You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection. If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application? Thanks.

No, but i have done a new install, upgrade to Aug 2 firmware and now everything is ok. It seems to be related some way to my old config backup. Thank you.

@wagonza: To allow access from the internet, create an ACL with 2 networks: 0.0.0.0/1 128.0.0.0/1 Remember to allow DNS queries to your WAN port on your firewall if you have removed that fw rule you setup previously. Thanks. it's now working:)

I am not using the blacklist files BUT: if you only want to block http (port 80) then it is enough to use squid in transparent mode. if you like to block https (port 443) then you have to run squid in non-transparent mode. In this mode you have to enter the proxy server address in the clients browse.

Hi, I am not sure, if the apps are always hitting the same IP or if they do a failover if one IP isn't available. But perhaps there is only the problem with one authentication server which is used for the first start of the app and after this the app is able to work with a proxy. For example microsoft.com is using many subnets of IPs so I could allow the hole subnet. To find out the IPs I checked the firewall after the apps tried to connect to the internet and then I tried to find out who is the owner of this IP/domain and which subnet belongs to this domain. Not sure if there is an other way to find out all IPs. Perhaps you can write a script which is doing a dns lookup for a domain some hours and which copies all the IPs to an excel sheet. Then you can delete all double entries and use the rest for the Alias/pfsense. If someone has got a better idea it would be great to hear it!

You may have to edit the squid config manually to stop regular caching. As for caching specific sites I would read Squid Package Tuning. Good luck. Post your results as others may wish to do the same :)

A package DEV will need to test the package on BETA 2.0 before coping the package to the BETA 2.0 Repo. If you would like the package now you should be able to copy the 1.2.3 package files to the same location on your BETA 2.0 install.

http://www.squid-cache.org/ No. Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP. Email - is the POP/SMTP/IMAP proto.
