@stephenw10 This is my final note since it seem you will always look at this as an endpoint. It doesn't appear, it actually is, the facts are the facts. Still, moderator usually have a way to remove posts and ban single users, not just the entire herd, or at least the ones use. Perhaps those are more advance, or perhaps netgate forums lack that functionality. I never said negate took this issue lightly, I was just looking for some feedback. I have seen this process many times and for the looks of it, pfsense CE is very much in maintenance mode. Just because netgate wants to be politically correct does not mean it is not. The fact are there and they are fallowing the same path as others did. Again, this subject is just becoming redundant and it is affecting other users in the forum.

If both client and server are on the LAN, the firewall has nothing to do with it. They connect directly to each other.

@poojashukla10 said in Installing Pfsense on Centos 7 and Ubuntu: Is it possible I can install Pfsense in redhat virtualization manager? I can see I can create freebsd virtual machine, but it doesn't mean freebsd os comes with Pfsense? pfSense is an OS itself. It is FreeBSD customized and optimized to be a firewall. Simply set the virtual machine's OS parameter to FreeBSD 11 (or whatever value is available) and then proceed to install a pfSense image. Again, pfSense is an OS. You don't install it on top of any other operating system.

Check the forum. This happens a lot. Most often, it's a some sort of DNS time out issue. For example : if you list installed packages on GUI Dashboard, the GUI will refresh that list when showing the dashboard. A DNS request goes out for the 'package server', and can't reach it. Same thing for the pfSense version check. What happens when you go directly to another page, like https://pfsense.yourlan.tld/status_services.php instead of the Dashboard (the default home page).

@jpcyrenne2 said in Using Cloud Provider IP with my Home LAN through Site-to-Site VPN: Same with a simple ping. I don't get trafic to the 2nd IP, but OK with main firewall IP. If you ping the second IP from an external source and check the tcpdump / packet capture on the cloud pfsense - is there any incoming package to the secondary IP visible? If not stop right there and check back with your provider, because then you've got a routing/IP issue :)

@rico said in Will Supermicro 5019A-FTN4 work with PfSense: You can't just take any Supermicro box with pfSense CE image and compare it to the XG-7100 saying it is the same platform as this image (pfSense-netgate-memstick-XG-7100-2.4.4-RELEASE-p2-amd64.img.gz) is highly adjusted to this architecture AFAIK. I didn't write that anywhere. I was pointing out, that Netgate itself uses the SOC without problems and has been before it was introduced officially with 2.4.4 and the step up of the FreeBSD base. So as Steve wrote it should simply work now. I wasn't telling anyone to use a netgate / ADI image on other hardware, that would be stupid. Besides that, if one uses almost identical hardware to the 5100 or 7100 there shouldn't be much surprises in hardware. That's all :)

1 lane of PCIe 2.0 is good for 4Gbps so multiport cards should be no issue. Other than that I have particular insight into that board. Steve

If they are on the same subnet, the traffic would never hit pfSense. If it doesn't work, check in your AP for a setting like "client isolation" and disable it. If they are on different subnets and both of those subnets route through pfSense, such as a VLAN, then you'd just need to allow the traffic in your firewall rules.

@salman4th said in All website block except Gmail.com: Please guide me thoroughly because i'm in at entry level. Such a configuration is a bit beyond entry level to be honest.. You do understand that gmail is hosted off a CDN so their would be a large amount both IPv4 and IPv6 address that gmail could be access via. Also g-suite will also use different fqdn and other ranges of IPs, etc. To really do such a setup would mean setting up of a proxy.. And since all of those sites will also be https - this makes it even a bit more complex. How is it someone at an entry level was tasked with doing such a project. Example, here is what they list https://support.google.com/a/answer/2589954?hl=en
