    yes, shure. my bad.

    anyhow, off course is ermal right, because:

    firstly, he's a hero member  :)

    secondly, like efonne said, you need an virtual interface, just like it is build in "virtual server software" or "very expensive hw". i just wanted to know, what ng_eiface is. (http://www.gsp.com/cgi-bin/man.cgi?section=4&topic=ng_eiface)

    You could create a feature request on http://redmine.pfsense.org/ if you want to make sure it isn't forgotten.  Just don't set a target version for now.

    @ermal:

    Same gateways on pppoe?

    If you mean the Gateway structure that pfsense automatically created for every interface once it is first activated and is editable via the system_gateways.php page, yes.

    When I changed OPT3 from 'static' to 'PPPoE' I re-used GW_OPT3. But the IP address was automatically changed to 'dynamic' and the monitor IP address was automatically changed to next-hop address and became non-editable in system_gateways.php.

    @ermal:

    And next time please double check your winnings or i will delete the post entirely.

    I could have swore that the settings were in the other area… my bad.  I also did alot of poking before I posted this.  You can see by my stats that I don't go as far as posting questions very often.

    Thanks again.

    2.0 includes e-mail notification support, but I don't think anything hooks into that except for system alerts.

    You might be able to rig up something that generates a system alert when a WAN fails, which would trigger the internal notification system.

    Do not touch anything in /var/etc

    Go to System > Cert Manager and import the certificates there. You'll need to import the CA cert and the server cert/key.

    On each one, click + and then choose import, and paste the cert into the box(es) provided.

    VIA VT6105 Rhine III 10/100BaseTX  is OTP1 (not used)
    RealTek 8169/8169S/8169SB(L)/8110S/8110SB(L) Gigabit Ethernet  is LAN
    RealTek 8139 10/100BaseTX  is WAN

    Unfortunately this server is more inaccessible to experiments (is replaced on Windows 2003 (and normally works with the same hardware)).

    its been solved already on 2.0 by setting compression to off so first kindly run the latest 2.0 snap then go to the wan page and simply click apply so compression can also be set to off in ur config and then try it, the patch applied was for nanobsd, no idea if its the same for full installs

    It has been suggested that the size reduction may have come from kernel debugging being turned off sometime recently for the builds.

    I've tested the latest snapshot on a VM and a real system and OpenVPN now starts autonomously on reboot.

    Thanks for the quick fix!

    There does seem to be a bug here.

    If I add two, delete the second, then delete the first, the last one won't delete and the settings are replaced with that of the second.

    EDIT: Refresh the page and they're both there still. So it looks like it's trying to delete it, but it doesn't actually happen.

    I created a ticket for this issue, http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/600

    That was put there on purpose (though not by me) for convenience. I rather like having a quick shortcut to the logs, since I often need to jump over there when working with IPsec (either from the setup or status pages) and without that link you have to navigate a bit to get there.

    I wouldn't normally publicly upload my config, but I did a clean install and the issue was still there, so I'm posting my config from the clean install.

    Just a note in case this is related to the issue that others are having.  I have 2 disks on the pfSense box, so during the installation I chose to create a GEOM mirror and installed to that.

    Others who have this issue, is your system also running the GEOM mirror?  I've noticed that the mirror persists across clean installs and that the drivers for it are loaded even though I did a clean install w/o installing to the mirror.

    I had to compress the file to get it to attach.  Rename the extension to .zip if necessary.

    I'm currently using captive portal on a bridge between my wired LAN and wireless and it is working fine.  The captive portal is assigned to the bridge interface itself, rather than the member interfaces.  I am using the type of bridge configuration mentioned in the sticky: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,20917.0.html
