2.0 has been promoted from ALPHA to BETA, as major development strides have been made in the past couple months. However it is still NOT suitable for production use in any serious environment.

@cr0mul3nt: Also, if I use firefox to view http://www.pfsense.com/pfSense/xmlrpc.php I get the following error: faultCode  103    faultString  XML error: no element found at line 1 As you should, you can't just browse there. I'm running pfSense-Full-Update-2.0-ALPHA-20091213-1418.tgz and packages work fine. There were some changes recently, it's possible if you have something older than that it won't work. Of course also make sure you have Internet connectivity from the firewall itself.

I've also just noticed that the configuration doesn't seem to retain the "Remote address range" value. It's always blank when viewing that page. I tried this with no success. I will do a new install due to the early state of release. Maybe it will be better… But thanks much for your quick help! I think its a problem of squidguard, all other packages have been gone after deleting and deleting their entries in config.xml.
