@bigdaddycainer Yes i agree ,regression is the answer, unfortunately and painfully, hope i kept the old gz or iso as pfsense arent in the habit ( like they previosuly did) of visually indexing the links to each version, like they previously did!!. I knew i shouldnt have done this as per past experience ,tis best to wait for the 2nd rev on a new release. Cheers

@trent6gol THX for your all help, but on my part off - topic (the above, shell "prtsc" were all I made via IPMI, It was made from a Supermicro + pfSense unit, which is about 3,400 Km from me edit: Advantech is a thousand-year-old company, I see you don't know has a huge reputation in industrial automation! by the way, icurrently all stuff is made in china, and we spoiled it and it’s a suck now

I'm already running 2.4.5. on that machine, which updated from 2.4.4. However, tried again with the 2.4.5. image and Etcher and still fails to boot. Tried Legacy and UEFI, although it's an old laptop that gives and warning that the UEFI mode is experimental and not fully supported. Yet, 2.4.4. still boots in either mode. Strange!

You should not use anything intended to write an ISO image, they can often add bootloaders etc which just break things here. You need an image writer that does a bit-for-bit copy. Etcher does this and can also decompress correctly so need to do that separately which can also break image. Use Etcher, be happy! Steve

Download the pfsense software, backup the pfsense files, download the backup file. Use a usb to reinstall pfsense again, when done, load the backup you have. Good Luck, Mr. Waste

@MeCJay12 said in 2.4.5 RAM Issues: I noticed that before it reboots that the command line shows "swap_pager_getswapspace(32): failed" over and over I installed 2.4.5 several weeks ago and today I had the same swap space error and had to reboot. The reboot went unusually slow when starting the packages.

That's not the same though. Changing from <512MB to 512MB or mode causes more significant changes. You would need to test that specifically. Steve

@GodAtum said in Available packages empty: I was trying to install something today when I noticed the available packages page is empty and by searches brought up no results. I have installed pfblockerng before and my internet works. Looking through old posts, I tried accessing http://pkg.pfsense.org/ but I cannot, so for some reason pfsense is blocking that page. Maybe something to do with pfblockerng but nothing in the logs? Look here: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/154033/unable-to-download-available-package-list-cert-expired/3 last Post.

Can you turn off the blocking of bogons on the WAN interface? (or disable IPv6 if you don't use it, I think that should avoid loading that table)

@johnpoz said in Time always slow 2.4.5: You go to the store and there is a bottle of booze listed for 24.99 on the shelf, but then you go to pay for it and there is sales tax and excise tax, and convenience tax, and whatever - and it ends up being 32$... Just put 32$ on the freaking shelf ;) Completely off-topic, but I like the banter.. this kinda reminds me of Bali eating out as a foreigner... Food + Service Tax + Tips + Peak Christmas Season Tax + Corkage.... plus foot rub, donkey ride, bracelet, coconut bag, photo, photo with snake, photo with monkey, photo with some random... then the tip to the driver once you get back to your accommodation, only to find the cleaners are waiting! But if I were to onsell the 3100 based on US prices of $399 as a small quantity reseller. Id assume I would have to buy this from Netgate USA with a max 15% discount and my ballpark calculations would be not including shipping: $399 - $60 discount = USD$339 add Shipping on bulk order = USD$??? $339 * $1.51 (2020-May-30 xe.com) = AUD$510 $515 + 10% GST for import = $561 $561 + 20% FX variance/margin/storage = $675 $675 + 10% wholesale GST = $745 It sounds about right and for me as a VAR, I get that wholesale GST back when I sell to the client. I guess Australia has simplified the taxes compared to other countries. @JeGr said in Time always slow 2.4.5: Don't know if the shop you checked auto-included VAT, import taxes and/or shipping - just sayin' :) Yup, those prices are exlcuding, so add another 10% on top of $750. So its a nice margin to be sitting on based on the above assumptions. Bintang anyone? Im sure its a rebranded Heinekan.

@Xu said in pfSense is unable to recover WAN whenever WAN connectivity is lost momentarily and restored: Broadcom/QLogic NetXtreme II BCM5716 1000Base-T Is this a modem ? Router ? If it's a modem, check out these WAN DHCP options : [image: 1590734784502-271d64e5-2acc-4c0b-9ae6-19539f2f6152-image.png] Example : when the WAN NIC comes up, the "Back-Off" timer could be used to give the modem some time to "stabilize" before pfSense starts firing DHCP requests. See manual for more options. Later on, when the connections goes bad again, the gateway monitor will 'reset' the WAN connection, reset the WAN interface, a new, delayed DHCP will kick in etc.
