It's working fine now  :) I had to rename partitions in /etc/fstab  to point to /dev/ad0 and enable the console in advanced settings. As the stupid newbe I'm I installed the swap partition. Do I have to reinstall to make sure that I do not use it or could I just remove it from /etc/fstab? ???

According to my post on the m0n0wall list from October, 2006, http://m0n0.ch/wall/list/showmsg.php?id=298/85   I was using v1.23b1 when I had the ZNYX card working.  There were some other issues, however, that I never solved. Mitch

@drweberdk: Well I'm sorry! The fact is; the installationpage dosn't say anything about pfSense being ment for WRAP/Soekris mainly. Maybe it should be explained more carefully on the webpage, if it's such a often asked question in here. There's a pretty obvious link on the download page (If you are not sure which version is right for you, visit this primer wiki.) that directs you to a list of the different builds and their differences.

I had a similar problem when I was setting up PFSense.  The way I was finally able to get it to work was to reset the box to default settings.  I had tinkered so much I was not sure what had been changed anymore.  Also when hooked up to live hosts real computers and networks the interfaces will allow you to get through.  For some reason setting up pfs in a live environment not a test environment worked for me.

Loaded the old config, removed all the NAT rules, re-created them like I just did now… still doesn't work. So wierd. I'm now restoring pieces of my original configuration onto the working config. Update: Alright, so I've restored the bits of the configuration I didn't want to have to re-enter (aliases, rules etc.) and now things are working fine again. I can only assume that something was messed with my configuration file. I've compared both configurations, and while I can't see any gaping issues, there are various discrepancies, mostly in the formatting of the XML. I wonder if my configuration became corrupt, or if there are some small changes between 1.1 and 1.2 that I got caught up on.

Yep very true I have that problem a lot. Would be useful to switch on for auto roll back on big firewall changes etc. But this was more of a suggestion rather than I really wanted it. Just wondered how meny people thought it would be useful.

Check that I booted the PF box up this morning and all is working (if you're an administrator you can see this post is being made through that box's ip vs my others through my other ip)…  ??? It's confusing the crap out of me... but I'll keep going on the config and do a few more re-boots and see if it continues to work.. !

Please reinstall using the latest 1.2beta1. Countless bugs have been fixed.

@scoRpy: hi i want to install the live cd of pfsense i burned the image on a cd put it into the computer. then i get [dr-dos] a:> You have been booting from a floppydrive, not from the livecd. Change your bios settings to boot from the cdrom.
