I'd guess a bug report may be the way to do it, but given that I'm just another user I can't say for certain.

yes thats true, the virtual media requires Internet Explorer and Java :( But for iLOE version 1 you could use firefox to mount ISO's, i wonder why they decided to make it IE only in iLOE 2 :(

Well, after several more hours of banging my head against this problem, I finally found a solution Thanks Mike! to the problem in these very forums. The thread lives here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=6840.0 And the meat of it revolves around running these commands after Live cd boot before installing, and once again on first boot from the CF after installing. set hw.ata.ata_dma=0 boot Rather than copy/paste and possibly diverging the original thread, I'll just let anyone curious follow the link to the thread above. Once safely running off the CF card, you may then enter this into the boot loader .conf file, and it works every time.  :) -M@

Hi guys, I'm looking at selling these cards in New Zealand and reading this post made a little nervous about them for a minute. To put others minds at rest, I've contacted Senao and one of their field engineers has conducted a test with the EPI-3601S PCI on a Pentium III box with PCI revision 1 with it's expected power output. I did a few crude tests of my own with a known 30-60mW output access point, then with a few EPI-3601S PCI's in ad-hoc mode. The difference for me was outstanding using the EnGenius card as I had expected. Here's the reply I received from Senao field engineers regarding a possible PCI version 3 difference in operation (note they would like to know the PCI card in questions serial number so they can further any tests that may be required): Email reply starts: I believe the rumors you heard may not be true in accordance to having only PCI version 3 to run the cards at maximum RF power. I did a test on the card with Pentium III system which is using PCI version 1 PCI bus and the result is obtain as show below. [image: 001.jpg] System Setup above show PCI card EPI-3601S connected to Spectrum Analyzer to obtain RF power reading. [image: 002.jpg] Card is inserted into PCI version 1 PCI bus. [image: 003.jpg] Reading taken from Spectrum analyzer reads 25.05 db after cable lost of approx 1.5db ~ 2db connecting from EPI-3601S to Spectrum analyzer. Kindly advised on some information that I may require, such as the serial number of the EPI-3601S that you tested as well as where was the rumors that mention about the issue you mentioned. Thanks and regards Michael Field Engineer Engenius Networks Singapore Pte Ltd

Almost certainly yes.  The one that I have sitting here in front of me has 4 x Intel 21143s on it (and a PCI-PCI bridge to put 'em on the bus).  I think some earlier revisions had DEC 21140s.  These are descendants of the original DEC Tulip and have many clones - too many to list here - including the PNIC.  See man 4 dc under FreeBSD.

well i figured out how to move the easyrsa4pfsense and set all the permissions in the case of New Hardware and Software Like a migration from 1.2 rc2 to 1.2.rc4 or what ever until they get the webgui up and going for the cert management i used winscp and pulled the easyrsa4pfsense folder out of the old machine (copy) and pasted it in the new machine (same location) /root/easyrsa4pfsense set the permissions to 755 (i think) login to the machine via putty or (8) on the cli then cd /root/easyrsa4pfsense source ./vars ./build-key XXXXX (xxxx would be the user name) all done on the new machine i would do a restore to get all the interfaces and firewall settings correct and now you just need to copy and paste all the certs that you have in the Actual VPN pages to the new machine. this is atleast what i did, and it worked. moved from 12.rc2 to 1.2 rc4.

    1. OK, then if I understand well what you said, with my present setup I am only doing writes to the CF when I do config changes. Correct? 2. The netinstall was going to be my attempt to work around a small hardware problem. This board has two IDE slots. One for normal IDE and another for 2.5 laptop hardrives. The normal IDE slot has 40 pins whereas the cables today only have 39 holes (one hole is blocked). I busted out a lighter and a heated up a tiny screwdriver to open up the blocked hole. I have pfsense running off the CD right now. I will soon install to hard drive. So this problem has been solved. Thanks, Pete

1.3 will support this.  Unfortunately there is no ETA or testing release as of yet.

I doubt it's related to ALIX or the VR NICs. Maybe chime in in this thread: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7369.msg42189.html#msg42189

FreeBSD's support for hardware monitoring has historically been, well, minimal.  This is beginning to change in 7.0, but currently it's reasonable to expect that unless the software explicitly supports your particular motherboard then it won't work.
