    Can I use pgblockerng aliases in Haproxy?

    80758505-9bad-4dad-a80b-c159be1045a2-image.png

    If it was a firewall rule, typing pfb would produce a dropdown to select.

    Here it has to be written, but will it work? Is it supported?

    @bmeeks So after upgrading to the newest PfSense 2.8.0 everything is now working like a charm!

    Suricata no longer seems to strip off tags like it did before! Which means I can now use my network segmented by VLANs and still use the benefits of Suricata Inline IPS! Very niiize!

    I checked in the Alerts section and it is indeed generating the correct alerts from the different VLAN sections, I put Inline IPS on the parent interface of all the VLANs.

    I assume this is because the FreeBSD version is also updated with the new PfSense 2.8.0 version?

    Because before, as soon as I selected Inline IPS mode, my entire VLAN tagging would break and nothing was reachable until I switched back to Legacy mode.

    The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat.
    With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

    @EChondo

    What's your pfSense version ?
    The instructions are shown here :

    1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png

    A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate.

    @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy:

    I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess.

    No need to wait x days.
    You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

    I had a similar issue with Routed VTI over IPsec recently. FRR lost its neighbors after rebooting or when a tunnel went down. It never re-discovered it automatically. Only restarting FRR (either in GUI or via CLI) brought the neighbors back.

    When I manually added those under the OSPF neighbors tab in the GUI it seems to solve the problem as well.

    Hello,
    I am unable to get the Tailscale package to work. The page at VPN > Tailscale > Authentication is stuck. It displays the error "Tailscale is not online," but also shows a "Logout and Clean" button, with no option to log in.
    link text

    This state persists even after performing the following troubleshooting steps:

    Rebooting the pfSense router.

    Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Tailscale package multiple times.

    Clearing browser cache and using a private browser window.

    Toggling the main "Enable Tailscale" checkbox in the settings.

    Checking the logs, which show the service gets a "terminate" signal and shuts down cleanly; it does not crash.

    Manually trying to delete the state file with rm /var/db/tailscale/tailscaled.state, which failed because the file does not exist.

    It appears that the package's configuration is corrupted in a way that persists even after reinstallation. Can anyone advise on how to perform a complete manual cleanup of all Tailscale files and settings?

    I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection.

    If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application?

    Thanks.

    Problem is solved.
    We installed an Apache Server on HAVP and send the blocking information via the external block page function to this.
    You can transfer blocking information via the informations e.g.
    #        %a=client_address
    #        %n=client_name
    #        %i=client_user
    #        %s=client_group
    #        %t=target_group
    #        %u=client_url"

    Thank you for your direction!

    I have successfully set up the proxy but now I can only access http traffic and after 3 hours of searching for an answer and reading several posts my mind is locking up again.

    Why can I hit http traffic but when I try gmail it locks up

    I have a lan rule that will allow access to 443 that is set by the auto config and i have tried to set a separate rule which will pass requests from pfsense on port 3128 to wan address on port 443 and I have tried to just set up any lan traffic to port 443 and I still cant access gmail when I am using the proxy. Any Ideas?

    Modification - I can be a bonehead sometimes, I didn't set firefox to use the same proxy settings. All is working, now I will need to figure out WPAD served from another internal server! Thank you for your help.

    This package does work now..however I could not stop the service.  It says it's stopped, but blocking continues.  You can stop the interfaces, but not the service via the dashboard.

    To add SNORT HTTP_inspect suppression, (which ends up blocking pfsense.org if not added) I had to reboot the server.  However, because pfsense.org was blocked, I ended up having the SQUID update fail partway through.  On reboot…the PFSENSE install was damaged, so could shell in, but routing was broken.  Ack.

    Therefore fresh reinstall required....just a heads up!  :-)

    Varnish needs a probe url on the site it will forward traffic to. This way, find a way to test with http.

    Hi,

    can you telnet into mysql remotely?

    either mysql is not configured to login remotely or firewall is blocking the connection attempt.

    this only works for one user particularly squid, i did this setup and it works flawlessly but when im using another account it doesnt work

    @hugleo:

    First I had to edit the file: /usr/local/pkg/squid.inc and add the -R parameter to the line:

    original:
    $conf .= "auth_param basic program /usr/local/libexec/squid/squid_ldap_auth -v {$settings['ldap_version']} -b {$settings['ldap_basedomain']} -D {$settings['ldap_user']} $password -f "{$settings['ldap_filter']}" -u {$settings['ldap_userattribute']} -P {$settings['auth_server']}$port\n";

    edited:
    $conf .= "auth_param basic program /usr/local/libexec/squid/squid_ldap_auth -R -v {$settings['ldap_version']} -b {$settings['ldap_basedomain']} -D {$settings['ldap_user']} $password -f "{$settings['ldap_filter']}" -u {$settings['ldap_userattribute']} -P {$settings['auth_server']}$port\n";

    Next follow up my pfsense configuration and observations:

    Authentication method: LDAP

    LDAP version: 3

    Authentication server: 192.168.1.1

    Authentication server port: 389

    LDAP server user DN: "cn=squid squid,cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=com" (I'd need to use double quoted. I've created a squid user on my active directory server. On active directory I've used squid word for name, surname and user login)

    LDAP password: my_squid_user_password

    LDAP base domain: dc=mydomain,dc=com (I've no need to use double quotes)

    LDAP username DN attribute: (I left blank)

    LDAP search filter: sAMAccountName=squid

    I hope this experience helps someone!

    It was rule not nat. I don't belive nat allows wan ip address in rules.
    It works great and it had cutdown on spam. I am running it on x550e and
    var is in ram. Is there a way to incerease size of var or postfix would benefit from its own ram drive. It seems that when var fills up and /var/spool/postix is smaller than assigned email size postfix will not relay messages. I had to decrease email size from 30 mb to 20 mb. So if var fillsup with logs and stuff postfix stops working.

    Haha OK I will test…

    I was being lazy.  :)

    @marcelloc:

    Disable the lan rule and test access to a blocked ip.

    If you have the same result on lan and floating rule, then you leave blocking rules only on floating tab.
