    Can I use pgblockerng aliases in Haproxy?

    80758505-9bad-4dad-a80b-c159be1045a2-image.png

    If it was a firewall rule, typing pfb would produce a dropdown to select.

    Here it has to be written, but will it work? Is it supported?

    @bmeeks So after upgrading to the newest PfSense 2.8.0 everything is now working like a charm!

    Suricata no longer seems to strip off tags like it did before! Which means I can now use my network segmented by VLANs and still use the benefits of Suricata Inline IPS! Very niiize!

    I checked in the Alerts section and it is indeed generating the correct alerts from the different VLAN sections, I put Inline IPS on the parent interface of all the VLANs.

    I assume this is because the FreeBSD version is also updated with the new PfSense 2.8.0 version?

    Because before, as soon as I selected Inline IPS mode, my entire VLAN tagging would break and nothing was reachable until I switched back to Legacy mode.

    The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat.
    With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

    @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade:

    Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working.

    Glad you have it sorted.

    There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting.
    ...
    Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded?

    If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver).

    Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name).

    You can see the quirk with the following command:

    [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root:

    Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver.

    @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade:

    You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8.

    LOL... sorry, I don't work here. While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

    @EChondo

    What's your pfSense version ?
    The instructions are shown here :

    1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png

    A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate.

    @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy:

    I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess.

    No need to wait x days.
    You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

    I had a similar issue with Routed VTI over IPsec recently. FRR lost its neighbors after rebooting or when a tunnel went down. It never re-discovered it automatically. Only restarting FRR (either in GUI or via CLI) brought the neighbors back.

    When I manually added those under the OSPF neighbors tab in the GUI it seems to solve the problem as well.

    Hello,
    I am unable to get the Tailscale package to work. The page at VPN > Tailscale > Authentication is stuck. It displays the error "Tailscale is not online," but also shows a "Logout and Clean" button, with no option to log in.
    link text

    This state persists even after performing the following troubleshooting steps:

    Rebooting the pfSense router.

    Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Tailscale package multiple times.

    Clearing browser cache and using a private browser window.

    Toggling the main "Enable Tailscale" checkbox in the settings.

    Checking the logs, which show the service gets a "terminate" signal and shuts down cleanly; it does not crash.

    Manually trying to delete the state file with rm /var/db/tailscale/tailscaled.state, which failed because the file does not exist.

    It appears that the package's configuration is corrupted in a way that persists even after reinstallation. Can anyone advise on how to perform a complete manual cleanup of all Tailscale files and settings?

    I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection.

    If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application?

    Thanks.

    Seems Zabbix proxy is unable to restart without restarting the PFSense box.
    So Zabbix proxy works but if I make changes, I MUST restart the entire server to apply them.

    Valable with version zabbix24-proxy-2.4.3 v0.8.3.

    For the error "Warning: file_put_contents(/usr/pbi/squidguard-amd64/etc/squidGuard/squidguard_conf.xml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/pkg/squidguard.inc on line 1032" you can try the following:

    Open the file /usr/local/pkg/squidguard_configurator.inc

    Find the line:
    define('SQUIDGUARD_WORKDIR', SQUIDGUARD_LOCALBASE . '/etc/squidGuard');

    Change it to:
    define('SQUIDGUARD_WORKDIR', SQUIDGUARD_LOCALBASE . '/local/etc/squidGuard');

    Worked as a charm for me!

    @BBcan177:

    … Could you change the following line and let me know if that fixes your issue please?
    ...

    Thank you for pointing me at the code spot(s). I have made the changes as per your last writing here above, BUT with commented out "continue".

    I found out that one have to Update Reload pfBlockerNG AND also to reload (by picking anyone rule and do Save & apply changes) the pfSense Firewall, in order to activate the renewed php-file. What is the proper protocol for restarting all ?

    Yes this works as I see now every attempt time-registered, except when the first attempt after reload is on a valid-port (listen "xyz22") i.s.o. the dummy-port (22).
    So, restated, if the first attempt is on the dummy-port (nothing listening on 22), then the entry (in Firewall-log & Alerts) is made, otherwise on an listening port no entry made at first attempt after reload/restart.

    Results in attach.

    Thank You !

    Edit: I see entry-2 should be from rule 112 i.s.o.107.

    That package was removed from the feed on purpose. i386-only, completely broken unmaintained thing.

    https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense-packages/commit/cc096698792f9d4967521ccd7254a5659a54c747

    There most certainly was no upgrade. If a removed package shows as "upgrade" in the package manager, then it's a bug in pkg_mgr_installed.php or somewhere around.

    @joergH:

    sorry, there are NO snort package installed.

    Errrrrrr….

    @joergH:

    i am using snort:
    after disable "block offenders" in snort, nut starts (@reboot) without any problem.

    Dude. I'm done here. As for the package itself, there's nothing to fix. If mwexec("/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut start") works for you and mwexec_bg("/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut start") - which is what start_service("nut") translates to - does not, the issue is obviously not the package code here.

    BTW, I would recommend to reinstall your box from scratch. Keeping it mounted RW all the time as noted in 2.2.4 release docs errata would probably help as well.

    @Trey:

    Can anyone give me a hint we to look? Where is openvpn started after a reboot in the scripts, where is quagga started in the scripts? How was the problem solved?

    Was never solved in any way, dunno where did you get the impression. There is no concept of dependencies or anything in the hacked together autogenerated rc scripts. Your hacks (increase the sleep on line 338, check for openvpn daemon running, check ifconfig output for the OpenVPN interfaces and do something, or whatever similar crap) would go here:

    This means you installed that awful mess of a Lusca package which points your packages to a server that's full of malware. Best to reinstall, and don't blindly run commands you find on the Internet.

    Funny it works a few hours before the pkg v0.29 pullrequest was merged. ;D
    Anyway if you do run into any other issue with haproxy let me know. I do intend to keep it working on 2.1.x for some time to come.. However the binaries wont be updated anymore, so you are (slightly?) at risk there! Still i don't regularly check my fixes&changes on 2.1, so it might happen again that i break it. :o sorry in advance.. :-[

    @marcelloc: Ever considered splitting this to a separate inc and getting it included into core? I find your code in lots of packages, fixing the same comment typos and code style everywhere. It's most completely identical otherwise, except for some customized log messages… Sounds really like a waste of time to maintain the code in loads of places. In some packages, most of the PHP code is the copy-paste of XMLRPC sync. Example - 2/3 of the actual code are XMLRPC sync.
