@johnpoz said in Please help to configure HAProxy to serve certifficate on internal LAN too: Yeah - what part do you not understand if you always resolve nextcloud.domain.tld so that it hits your haproxy on your pfsense wan IP are you not getting? You have 2 options - use a different domain internally and always go to nextcloud.publicdomain.tld, or use the same domain internally as external and run into the problem of what IP it resolves to.. Change your local domain to say home.arpa or .internal or atleast something different than the public domain your using to point to pfsense wan IP on the public internet. You are shooting yourself in the foot trying to use the same domain externally as internally. There are ways around it, but they complicate the setup. For example you might be able to use views in unbound as one way to work around the problem. You could use only host entries for all your resources. But then again you run into a problem of using the fqdn for this service, now always pointing to your wan IP.. And that is great when you want to access the service haproxy is doing - but if you want to access that resource on some other service that haproxy doesn't handle - like say simple file sharing.. You are going to have problems. Since you clearly do not understand how any of this works - the simple solution is change the local domain you are using so it is not the same as the public domain you want to use to get to your nextcloud. This tone is outrageous directed at somebody who acknowledged right off the rip that English is not their first language. How many languages do you speak, John? And safely assuming it's only one—English of course—take it from a fellow English native that you'd do well to say more with less words. You otherwise were directing OP in the right direction in my opinion.

Hello team, I have a Netgate 8200 running 24.11-RELEASE (amd64) with Suricata 7.0.8_5 package installed. Suricata doesn't seem to start. It loops to red once I press the Play button on the interface. It leaves no logs in the System logs, it leaves no logs in suricata.log at /var/log/suricata/suricata_ovpns933787/suricata.log I tried launching it manually: # /usr/local/bin/suricata -V or # /usr/local/bin/suricata -c /usr/local/etc/suricata/suricata_33787_ovpns9/suricata.yaml -i suricata_ovpns933787 and I get this output ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/bin/suricata: Undefined symbol "__strlcpy_chk@FBSD_1.8" Thanks in advance, Dara

@kabeda If memory serves, that old version of ntopng did not run as user ntopng, but as user nobody. There are lots of problems in that old version. Anyway, check the ownership and permissions of /var/db/ntopng and make sure it matches the user that ntopng runs as. You may need to set ownership of the entire hierarchy. Example: /usr/sbin/chown -R nobody:nobody /var/db/ntopng However, the better choice would be to upgrade to a more recent version.

Ah, I changed the action to deny both and now I also have a wan firewall rule, which I also had on OPNsense. With this wan rule I can see the blocks already coming now! Is it a bad idea to have the action set to deny both instead of inbound only?

@fjmp24 said in Notification: UPS ups battery is low: If I remove ignorelb directive, my UPS shuts down after 16 seconds This means your UPS is signaling a low battery. Either your battery is bad, or your UPS is bad. Most likely battery, but you never know. I suggest reaching out to Eaton support.

I am using the DNS-Update method I have to use a DNS-Sleep of 5 minutes to let the letsencrypt txt dns record update propagate. During this 5 minutes the acme-webgui times out. when the acme-webgui times out the Action list is NOT executed. How can I solve this ? Would it maybe be an idea to let the acme.sh script execute the actions in the action list as a post-hook instead of the web-gui? Or maybe add an option to add post-hooks in the webUI ?

@luckman212, Thanks for your suggestion. I will check what I have in /usr/local/pkg/tailscale/state, and also the RAM disk settings others have brought up. I could learn more about where Tailscale and pfSense store system files. If I find anything worth sharing, I will let you know.

@kulbirsaini: @jchuerta: @GruensFroeschli: Why would you want to do that? pfSense is basically FreeBSD with a nice gui. (and a bit more) So you can do about what you can do under FreeBSD. Hi I would like to use youtube_cache - Squid redirector plugin for caching Youtube Videos and I found this in Python .. here is the link http://kulbirsaini.fedorapeople.org/stuff/youtube_cache/ http://kulbirsaini.fedorapeople.org/stuff/youtube_cache/ Youtube Cache has come a long way. Now its a squid url rewriter plugin instead of redirector. It supports 10 video portals now. Check http://cachevideos.com/ for details. Thanks a lot kulbirsaini !!! I already have cachevideos in the pfsense and it is working ! now I need sleep jeje

You need to use pfSense 1.2.1 because the FreeSWITCH package is compiled for FreeBSD 7 once you are running that version you will be able to see the Freeswitch package. If someone wants to sponsor build I will make a build for pfSense 1.2. For more information take a look at: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,11930.0.html I'm currently finishing up a new version that will add an improved Dialplan tool, new Recordings GUI, Auto Attendant GUI, CDR and LOG download. When this is publicly available I will announce it at the above link. Best Regards, Mark

Hi, you can make bandwithd ignore certain IP Adresses by adding a filter string like that: "ip and (src net 192.168 and dst net not 192.168) or (src net not 192.168 and dst net 192.168)" (This is my filter which will make bandwithd ignore all intra-LAN Traffic). Yours should be like "ip and src ip not [IP-Address]". Make sure you add the quotation marks or the filter will be ignored. Best regards, Felix

Welcome to the world of BSD! There was a thread recently about a Proxy package for pfSense. My best bet would be to lurk around there as those guys seem to have the most experience with these protocols and implementations. ok, found two threads that might be interesting to you: Topic: siproxd, setup and configuration for voip… works great!!! Topic: FreeSWITCH package for pfSense 1.2.1 and 1.3 released. PBX or Proxy Girls? Are there any around here? The one I know in the network business does a hell of a good job but does not communicate much in forums. Pretty straight forward.

Confirm, whitelist is ignored. EDIT: add ip to whitelist 2a)     I ) unload the rule triggering the block and save changes     II) reload the same rule and save changes 2b) just restart snort to definitively whitelist IPs

Snort works like a charm on pfsense 1.2.1 rc2. The whole 1.2.1 rc2 is a great release and I now run that with snort, squid/squidguard/lightsquid Try it out!

Please read the forums before posting.  This question is answered ad nauseum including detailed how-tos concerning the set up of squid and squidGuard in a transparent configuration.  I'm moving this to the "Packages" forum to help you on your way.

All the configuration options are there on the web page. When you either hit stop, or the relevant number of packets are captured, you'll have a display showing the source, destination and other details about the packet.  If you need more then you'll need to SSH on to the host and run tcpdump from the command line.

Any solution to this one? I noticed a update to the official lightsquid site saying that ou SHOULD patch lightparser.pl #extract site name       $url =~ m/([a-z]+://)??([a-z0-9-]+.){1}(([a-z0-9-]+.){0,})([a-z0-9-]+){1}(:[0-9]+)?/(.*)/o;       $site=$2.$3.$5;       $site=$Lurl if ($site eq ""); replace to #extract site name       if ($url =~ m/([a-z]+://)??([a-z0-9-]+.){1}(([a-z0-9-]+.){0,})([a-z0-9-]+){1}(:[0-9]+)?/(.*)/o) {         $site=$2.$3.$5;       } else {         $site=$Lurl;       } ESL 2008-11-07. fixed version ASAP … Maybe an update has to be done to the package? Lightsquid would be great on my pfsense, since the original squid package does not offer any way to look at the logs without entering the pfsense machine. Or, am I wrong?

@mhab12: If the LAN IP of pfsense is configured to say 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask is /24 (255.255.255.0) then only computers addressed 192.168.1.2-254 will be able to access the GUI, proxy, etc.  If you set the subnet mask of the LAN on pfsense to /16 (255.255.0.0) then the box will listen for any requests from 192.168.1.x all the way through 192.168.254.x so long as everything is on the same physical net. Ok that cinda explains my main problem with not being able to access gui and squid on lan if. i´d guess i have to use /10 or something and accept that solution. Would it work if i trunked the needed vlans into pfsense and created static mappings?…guess i have to try tomorrow ;) danke /Fredde

Box is production From what I gather the proxy group does not exist, it may be because this was not a fresh install.. So how do I proceed ?

Thanx. But… Should´nt it be an easier way? Than to hack into the actual squid build as I understood it. Well, worth a try. Isent it anything that can be done with the GUI. I run both squid and squidGuard.

Try this…go to diagnostics, edit file, enter '/usr/local/pkg/squid.inc' without the quotes and then press load, search for this line: acl safeports port 21 70 80 210 280 443 488 563 591 631 777 901 and add port 81, like this, acl safeports port 21 70 80 81 210 280 443 488 563 591 631 777 901 press save. Now that you're done you'll have to either reboot the box or at a minimum restart the squid service, but I think a reboot might be in order as the squid config is rebuilt from this *.inc file each time the box boots.  Make sure you reboot by doing diagnostics, restart, and not by pressing the button on your case.
