    It's on an amd64.  As for the snapshot time, I'm not exactly sure. It would have been whatever the latest was that was available around 8 EDT on 4/18 since that's around the time I did the upgrade from the GUI.  It was a build from earlier that day (11am or 1pm maybe).

    One other thing I forgot to mention was that just before doing the upgrade I just started having it report to a syslog server.  That was the first time I tried upgrading since activating the syslog server.

    @jimp:

    Not enough info there to say anything for sure. i386 or amd64? What was the exact snapshot time?

    I have a couple VMs running the latest snapshot and haven't had any problems myself.

    Well, i have some good news and some bad news.

    The good news:
    With testing method number 2 everything works as it should. GODZILLA is blocked from OPT2 and OPT3 while all other computers can use the failover group. Perfect :).
    A little bit strange, was not expecting it to work because a firewall rule higher up should block GODZILLA from the failover group. Strange, but still good.

    The bad news:
    With testing method number 1 i have the same problem. GODZILLA gets access to the Internet through OPT2(3G, the last backup) after WAN fails. All other computers start to use OPT3(ADSL).
    When i kill the ADSL modem every other computer starts to use 3G, and sadly, even GODZILLA is getting access to the Internet through that connection ???. It should not get any access after WAN stops working.

    You could also copy the "cdcontrol" command from a FreeBSD 8.1 box and use it on the firewall.

    Problem solved.

    The problem was that I had setup a CARP IP for a future network but I had no switch yet so the network cards were not connected. As soon as both cards were connected to the switch CARP started working perfectly.

    Thanks for the suggestion!  Increase the kern.ipc.nmbclusters from 25600->51200 did stop the WebGUI non-response problem.  I am still monitoring for any side effect.

    My mbufs denied line was like:
    0/259946/57104 requests for mbufs denied (mbufs/clusters/mbuf+clusters)
    and Now:
    0/0/0 requests for mbufs denied (mbufs/clusters/mbuf+clusters)

    Hi,

    I've tried set  group GRPWAN  to

    WAN1GTY tier 1 WAN2GTY tier 1
    but i've the same problem: the default route stay on WAN2 gateway and openvpn client stop to work.

    Is it a bug or a configuration problem?

    @torontob:

    To get things straight, "Hostap" is for acting as a wireless router and that is when you put Infrastructure mode in pfSense wireless tab?

    On a pfSense wireless interface, configure Mode as

    Access Point if you want it to behave as an access point

    Infrastructure if you want to use something else as an access point

    From Diagnostics > Command in the PHP box, run:

    clear_subsystem_dirty('packagelock');

    That will reset the GUI's idea of the packages being updated.

    Squid delete may have actually still been busy if it was doing an operation on the cache and you have a large cache tree with many files/subfolders.

    I don't think the FreeSWITCH package supports amd64 yet, it could be the cause of some of the issue.

    You might not be so quick to open multiple threads with the same error messages/issues. No telling how many of them are related. I already answered some of this on http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,35827.msg185150.html#msg185150

    Hey GruensFroeschli,
    Wow stinks you had it happen but good as means I might not be crazy. lol  I scanned thru your log to compare to my memory of when it happened to me & do recall various errors but not sure exactly. I might have to see if I can get to the log files on the disabled slice to compare..
    Thx,
    Bill

    You have LAN and WAN on the same network, that can and will cause many issues if you have things improperly configured.

    I just want to chime in and say that I really appreciate the addition of this feature.

    Really nice for those of us in datacenters who get billed at the 95% rate.

    It depends on what exactly you intend on tracking.

    For traffic accounting, the best would be netflow (see the doc wiki for details), failing that, something like bandwidthd. If you want to know the websites that people visit, you'd have to run them through a proxy like squid.

    Lots more info on the wiki and on the forum.

    Another Item. Both systems being tested were nanoBSD upgrades from 1.2.3. I don't know if that makes any difference or not.
