@jared-busch said in Downgrade to 2.5.0: Great, they have it, but nothing on that screen shows anything related to older versions. Who, besides you, wastes time clicking around on unrelated links? I would guess any "Linux Professional" would use that URL to get a shasum file to verify the download. On linux the file is easy to use for veriify. Curiosity doesn't just kill cats , it can also expand your knowledge.

@mdreon Sure. Open a ticket at go.netgate.com and let us know you need the latest firmware download for an SG-4860 and the serial number.

@bwales said in Upgrade not available: the other on 2.4.4. The device on 2.4.4 does not show that an upgrade to 2.4.5 is available. Hi, Version 2.4.4 is quite old, do not neglect your firewall... I would save and request a fresh image from Netgate, everything else is harder way +++edit: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/upgrades.html Especially since you will be covered by version 21.02.xy (FE to Plus)

Just as an FYI to anyone else finding this post, I ended up doing a backup and then a new re-install to the latest version. Imported my backup and I'm good to go with no more errors being seen.

@patosawa Possibly you can install the screensavers from the proper FreeBSD project and activate them: FreeBSD Manual Pages > Screensaver However, non of them will be able to shut off the display. You can use blank screen at best, which will not provide any notable power savings. As mentioned, shutting off the screen is a hardware feature and usually notebooks do this when closing the lid. Possibly you can get a BIOS upgrade which has this ability.

@gertjan Thanks for all that. I do make it a point to watch several tuts and read discussion groups about things before plunging in. I got it all set up and working, now I'm trying to learn to tweak it by assigning an IP address. pfSense is running smoothly now, haven't had any problems in the last day or two. Thanks for everyone's help!!

Further to this issue, FYI the same problem did not present again, when later upgrading from pfSense v2.5.0 to the quickly following update v2.5.1, instead successfully progressing and completing without incident and all appears to be working without issue after update completion.

@steveits thank you for the prompt reply. I have done it before but complete forgot how to request an image. I did the upgrade on 5 and 3 went smoothly. The two that had problems were stuck in upgrade for about 2 hours on one abs the other about 90 mins before I decided to manually intervene. Overall I guess some bugs are to be expected but mostly I am happy with Netgate hardware. Thanks again
