    Can I use pgblockerng aliases in Haproxy?

    80758505-9bad-4dad-a80b-c159be1045a2-image.png

    If it was a firewall rule, typing pfb would produce a dropdown to select.

    Here it has to be written, but will it work? Is it supported?

    @bmeeks So after upgrading to the newest PfSense 2.8.0 everything is now working like a charm!

    Suricata no longer seems to strip off tags like it did before! Which means I can now use my network segmented by VLANs and still use the benefits of Suricata Inline IPS! Very niiize!

    I checked in the Alerts section and it is indeed generating the correct alerts from the different VLAN sections, I put Inline IPS on the parent interface of all the VLANs.

    I assume this is because the FreeBSD version is also updated with the new PfSense 2.8.0 version?

    Because before, as soon as I selected Inline IPS mode, my entire VLAN tagging would break and nothing was reachable until I switched back to Legacy mode.

    The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat.
    With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

    @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade:

    Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working.

    Glad you have it sorted.

    There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting.
    ...
    Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded?

    If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver).

    Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name).

    You can see the quirk with the following command:

    [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root:

    Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver.

    @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade:

    You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8.

    LOL... sorry, I don't work here. While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

    @EChondo

    What's your pfSense version ?
    The instructions are shown here :

    1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png

    A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate.

    @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy:

    I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess.

    No need to wait x days.
    You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

    I had a similar issue with Routed VTI over IPsec recently. FRR lost its neighbors after rebooting or when a tunnel went down. It never re-discovered it automatically. Only restarting FRR (either in GUI or via CLI) brought the neighbors back.

    When I manually added those under the OSPF neighbors tab in the GUI it seems to solve the problem as well.

    Hello,
    I am unable to get the Tailscale package to work. The page at VPN > Tailscale > Authentication is stuck. It displays the error "Tailscale is not online," but also shows a "Logout and Clean" button, with no option to log in.
    link text

    This state persists even after performing the following troubleshooting steps:

    Rebooting the pfSense router.

    Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Tailscale package multiple times.

    Clearing browser cache and using a private browser window.

    Toggling the main "Enable Tailscale" checkbox in the settings.

    Checking the logs, which show the service gets a "terminate" signal and shuts down cleanly; it does not crash.

    Manually trying to delete the state file with rm /var/db/tailscale/tailscaled.state, which failed because the file does not exist.

    It appears that the package's configuration is corrupted in a way that persists even after reinstallation. Can anyone advise on how to perform a complete manual cleanup of all Tailscale files and settings?

    I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection.

    If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application?

    Thanks.

    You need to use pfSense 1.2.1 because the FreeSWITCH package is compiled for FreeBSD 7 once you are running that version you will be able to see the Freeswitch package.

    If someone wants to sponsor build I will make a build for pfSense 1.2.

    For more information take a look at:
    http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,11930.0.html

    I'm currently finishing up a new version that will add an improved Dialplan tool, new Recordings GUI, Auto Attendant GUI, CDR and LOG download. When this is publicly available I will announce it at the above link.

    Best Regards,
    Mark

    Hi,

    you can make bandwithd ignore certain IP Adresses by adding a filter string like that: "ip and (src net 192.168 and dst net not 192.168) or (src net not 192.168 and dst net 192.168)" (This is my filter which will make bandwithd ignore all intra-LAN Traffic). Yours should be like "ip and src ip not [IP-Address]".
    Make sure you add the quotation marks or the filter will be ignored.

    Best regards,
    Felix

    Welcome to the world of BSD!

    There was a thread recently about a Proxy package for pfSense.
    My best bet would be to lurk around there as those guys seem to have the most experience with these protocols and implementations.

    ok, found two threads that might be interesting to you:
    Topic: siproxd, setup and configuration for voip… works great!!!
    Topic: FreeSWITCH package for pfSense 1.2.1 and 1.3 released. PBX or Proxy

    Girls? Are there any around here?
    The one I know in the network business does a hell of a good job but does not communicate much in forums. Pretty straight forward.

    Confirm, whitelist is ignored.

    EDIT:

    add ip to whitelist

    2a)
        I ) unload the rule triggering the block and save changes
        II) reload the same rule and save changes

    2b) just restart snort to definitively whitelist IPs

    Snort works like a charm on pfsense 1.2.1 rc2. The whole 1.2.1 rc2 is a great release and I now run that with snort, squid/squidguard/lightsquid

    Try it out!

    All the configuration options are there on the web page.

    When you either hit stop, or the relevant number of packets are captured, you'll have a display showing the source, destination and other details about the packet.  If you need more then you'll need to SSH on to the host and run tcpdump from the command line.

    Any solution to this one? I noticed a update to the official lightsquid site saying that

    ou SHOULD patch lightparser.pl

    #extract site name
          $url =~ m/([a-z]+://)??([a-z0-9-]+.){1}(([a-z0-9-]+.){0,})([a-z0-9-]+){1}(:[0-9]+)?/(.*)/o;
          $site=$2.$3.$5;
          $site=$Lurl if ($site eq "");

    replace to

    #extract site name
          if ($url =~ m/([a-z]+://)??([a-z0-9-]+.){1}(([a-z0-9-]+.){0,})([a-z0-9-]+){1}(:[0-9]+)?/(.*)/o) {
            $site=$2.$3.$5;
          } else {
            $site=$Lurl;
          }

    ESL 2008-11-07. fixed version ASAP …

    Maybe an update has to be done to the package? Lightsquid would be great on my pfsense, since the original squid package does not offer any way to look at the logs without entering the pfsense machine. Or, am I wrong?

    @mhab12:

    If the LAN IP of pfsense is configured to say 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask is /24 (255.255.255.0) then only computers addressed 192.168.1.2-254 will be able to access the GUI, proxy, etc.  If you set the subnet mask of the LAN on pfsense to /16 (255.255.0.0) then the box will listen for any requests from 192.168.1.x all the way through 192.168.254.x so long as everything is on the same physical net.

    Ok that cinda explains my main problem with not being able to access gui and squid on lan if.

    i´d guess i have to use /10 or something and accept that solution.

    Would it work if i trunked the needed vlans into pfsense and created static mappings?…guess i have to try tomorrow ;)

    danke /Fredde

    From what I gather the proxy group does not exist, it may be because this was not a fresh install..

    So how do I proceed ?

    Thanx. But… Should´nt it be an easier way? Than to hack into the actual squid build as I understood it.
    Well, worth a try. Isent it anything that can be done with the GUI.

    I run both squid and squidGuard.

    Try this…go to diagnostics, edit file, enter '/usr/local/pkg/squid.inc' without the quotes and then press load, search for this line:

    acl safeports port 21 70 80 210 280 443 488 563 591 631 777 901

    and add port 81, like this,

    acl safeports port 21 70 80 81 210 280 443 488 563 591 631 777 901

    press save.

    Now that you're done you'll have to either reboot the box or at a minimum restart the squid service, but I think a reboot might be in order as the squid config is rebuilt from this *.inc file each time the box boots.  Make sure you reboot by doing diagnostics, restart, and not by pressing the button on your case.

    SquidGuard is simply an HTTP-URL filter.  It should not be considered a solution for filtering p2p applications such as bittorrent.
