Can I use pgblockerng aliases in Haproxy?

    80758505-9bad-4dad-a80b-c159be1045a2-image.png

If it was a firewall rule, typing pfb would produce a dropdown to select.

Here it has to be written, but will it work? Is it supported?

@bmeeks So after upgrading to the newest PfSense 2.8.0 everything is now working like a charm!

Suricata no longer seems to strip off tags like it did before! Which means I can now use my network segmented by VLANs and still use the benefits of Suricata Inline IPS! Very niiize!

I checked in the Alerts section and it is indeed generating the correct alerts from the different VLAN sections, I put Inline IPS on the parent interface of all the VLANs.

I assume this is because the FreeBSD version is also updated with the new PfSense 2.8.0 version?

Because before, as soon as I selected Inline IPS mode, my entire VLAN tagging would break and nothing was reachable until I switched back to Legacy mode.

The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat.
With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

    @EChondo

    What's your pfSense version ?
The instructions are shown here :

    1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png

A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate.

@EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy:

I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess.

No need to wait x days.
You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

I had a similar issue with Routed VTI over IPsec recently. FRR lost its neighbors after rebooting or when a tunnel went down. It never re-discovered it automatically. Only restarting FRR (either in GUI or via CLI) brought the neighbors back.

When I manually added those under the OSPF neighbors tab in the GUI it seems to solve the problem as well.

    Hello,
I am unable to get the Tailscale package to work. The page at VPN > Tailscale > Authentication is stuck. It displays the error "Tailscale is not online," but also shows a "Logout and Clean" button, with no option to log in.
    link text

This state persists even after performing the following troubleshooting steps:

    Rebooting the pfSense router.

Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Tailscale package multiple times.

Clearing browser cache and using a private browser window.

Toggling the main "Enable Tailscale" checkbox in the settings.

Checking the logs, which show the service gets a "terminate" signal and shuts down cleanly; it does not crash.

Manually trying to delete the state file with rm /var/db/tailscale/tailscaled.state, which failed because the file does not exist.

It appears that the package's configuration is corrupted in a way that persists even after reinstallation. Can anyone advise on how to perform a complete manual cleanup of all Tailscale files and settings?

I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection.

If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

See pfsense 2.3.3 Unable to check for updates or pfSense Repository "broken" (more exists).
What is your DNS setup ? You kept the default "resolver" (always works, no matter what) or the more trickier one : "forwarder" ? What settings ?
It might be even more simple (as seen in a thread) : the drive was booted using read only mode …. and that stops the show right away.
    Or drive damaged ...
Or some system PHP system files didn't come over when installing ...

Anyway, read the thread I showed - install Google and use it to search some more - and come back with your detailed findings. I promise you that in your next question you will find your answer.

AP9630 is a SNMP card also.  You should read the manual and setup this card properly, IP, protocols, user access and so on, then you will be able to connect this card via Remote SNMP and using your UPS name shown in card settings.

These are overwhelming my server logs. I'm not sure if this is some valid threat or if these are general web probes that are happening all the time.

Yes DNSBL is used to block websites.  Make sure you redirect all DNS to pfSense to prevent someone from using 3rd party DNS servers to bypass the DNSBL.

Ok good to know. Could very well be a problem with one of the plugins that I have installed. I will try to troubleshoot it as you suggest to see if I can fix the problem.

Well I was able to somewhat figure this out. It looks like OP was completely on the right track - the code in that section looks correct, but in any *BSD/Linux/etc. system it's getting tripped up because the interface name is not a pure number. As a result, the atoi() function returns 0 consistently, instead of some value which differentiates the interfaces.

I made a custom patch to the package in order to output something unique. This probably isn't safe (I blindly assume we have strsep() without a macro for one), so I'm not going to send it upstream, but it worked out for me. It instead uses the individual characters of the interface name to generate a unique ~5-digit integer which can be used easily for filtering. To find out an interface's numerical representation, I just run softflowd -i <name> with no other args, which prints the info and crashes.

    Hope this helps someone!

Oh gawd…this is possibly a "false alarm".  I had the "floating rules" checked so I suspect it was on all on the floating rules tab and not the LAN.  When I unticked the floating rules check box and checked the LAN in the firewall section...all the rules were there.

    Sheesh!

    The file should exist :

    [2.3.4-RELEASE][admin@pfsense.brit-hotel-fumel.net]/root: ls -al /var/db/pkg/repo-pfSense-core.sqlite -rw-r--r--  1 root  wheel  212992 Jul 14 22:08 /var/db/pkg/repo-pfSense-core.sqlite

and if it doesn't, it will be auto created by the "package system.

    Btw : check your drive.
Check if the directory /var/db/pkg exists.
Can you write something there ?
    Etc.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

I still think it would be reasonable for the certificate manager to list any client certs that chain up to the selected Peer Certificate Authority. After all, any of these certs would correctly validate a client when connecting to the OpenVPN server, and thus could be used in client exports. For example, what if you wanted to use multiple client intermediate CAs with a single OpenVPN server (e.g. one intermediate for employees from the China office, one for employees from the US office – in order to allow you to revoke an entire office's access quickly by revoking the relevant intermediate)? If the client export package only displays client certs directly issued by the Peer CA, and not one two or three levels below it, such a setup wouldn't be usable with the client export package.

In any case, it's not a huge deal -- for my use case, I can just set the Peer CA directly to my Intermediate.

I saw that FreeRadius 3.0.15 support was added to Available Packages.
Uninstalled freeradius2, installed freeradius3, and the configuration transfered over
    quite nicely.
I imagine this was quite an undertaking, thanks much!

    Cheers

Nothing changed here recently, and there haven't been any outages. It's possible there was a problem somewhere between you and the package servers, however.
