You can't.

You could checkout the sources for the packages on a commit before the switch to PHP 7.2 and then build them yourself and install them manually, if you know how to do it.

Insert the lines below:

drm.i915.enable_unsupported = 1

Save and restart!

The -p1 images are only for Netgate hardware, not installations using the community edition. There were no -p1 installers for CE.

If the users were not in the config before the upgrade, nothing in the upgrade could have done that.

I don't see any sign of local users other than admin, or signs of RADIUS or LDAP being used. Something or someone else must have removed the users from that configuration before.

There haven't ever been any bugs that I can recall that would remove all users except admin.

I'd look for an older backup, see if they are in there.

Something must be failing at boot time for that to happen. Can you monitor the firewall console while it boots to see if there are any errors?

What are the "weird errors"? What didn't work? We need exact error messages and more specific information.

If you do not provide the details of the problem, it can't be fixed. If you just say "It's broken" and try to roll back, future updates will likely still be a problem for you.

I was able to fix this by following the instructions Tubal listed on this reddit thread:

To fix this I: Updated /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/pfSense.conf to point the repos back to 2.4.3 Run pkg update Removed php72 ('pkg delete php72') Reinstall missing packages ('pkg check -d')

Then I was good to go. In my case I was pointing to 2.4.2 but the same will apply for you but use 2.4.3

Fixed all my issues :)

M4 large. I determined that everytime I tried to hard set the IP address I wanted on the AWS subnet it would fail. After installing and then terminating it several times, I could relaunch a new instance with an automatically generated IP address with no problems.

You're welcome to try the 2.4.5 snapshots which will likely become 2.4.4p1.

There's no point releasing p1 before whatever errors are in 2.4.4 are found and fixed though.

Seems to be working fine now. Not sure why a disconnected WAN interface would prevent me from accessing the webgui but in any event everything seems to be working just fine now. This week I'll upgrade the other end of my VPN and turn on Asynchronous Cryptography.

I've been using PFSense for 4 years now; this is the first major upgrade where I've had to remove packages. I'm overall very happy with the product, just want to help improve others' upgrade experience.

That card should be supported to some extent by the iwm(4) driver. But it won't work in AC mode and it won't work in hostap mode so you cannot use it as an access point.
