Thank you for the help…my two Alix 2C2 are now running, the problem was the same! bios update!

The process is simple with physdiskwrite.exe install  freedos_alixupdate_0.99.img ( inside freedos3.zip )  in a CF card, copy also the files in alixb099.zip to the CF card ( normal copy/paste under windows ) , boot the alix with this cf card ,  run sb.com and it´s donne !

Remenber...admin console parameters for hiperterminal:
Freedos/ ALix  : 9600 8N1  no flow control
Pfsense : 38400 8N1 no flow control

the rest is going down the road...

Have you installed squid and enabled transparent proxying?

i left my box runnig like this over night and in the morning some tunnels were up but veeeery slow

after i power cycled the box everything came back up and works so far…

I've solved the problem, here is the solution :

activate RAID in BIOS (F2 for my MB) create array for raid-1 with motherboard utility (ctrl+z on qwerty and ctrl+w on azerty) return in BIOS and desactivate RAID (=> "non raid") launch pfSense installation

pfSense see 3 HDD : 2 in SATA and the RAID ! select the raid and all is ok !

I don't understand where raid is managed (OS or motherboard ?).

I've try to create some file and unplug on disk : raid is ok (file is on both disks)

First step, upgrade to 1.2 release.

Second, when it crashes, what error is produced?  It is likely that your hardware is faulty.

Create a rule on WAN that allows a ping?
Per default pfSense blocks everything.

We defaulted to multi-proc kernels before all of this so it is no different from what you had prior to 1.2.

Try setting the netmask to 255.255.255.255.  Counter intuitive I know, but I've had ADSL modems that required hosts to use this configuration.

It takes a long time for OpenNTPd to provide time sync.  Where I find that the ISC ntpd can sync the time and act as a time source within a minute or so, the OpenNTPd version can take half an hour or more - I'm pretty sure you'll find a few threads about this if you search.

You may just have to be very patient.

maybe DPD problems, i have made in the past various tests with pfsense and cisco concentrators and it runs for while and then it stops. What i saw is, that cisco conc. and pfsense have DPD problems, but this test was a long time ago. Maybe the other folks here have established a pfsense release with a cisco conc.
