    @ramosel said in Help! Can't find old personal /private messages after forum upgrade:

    I had a lot of really good information in my PMs from the devs and from package writers… gone! with no warning.

    And where did you ever get the impression that data on some public forum is safe, secure? How much are you paying for this forum access that you believe that netgate/pfsense and you formed some sort of contract that your PM would be there day to day?

    Lets get real here! ;)

    I also have multiple appliances, gold member and tester - and very active on the forums for 10 some years. I can tell you for sure I never had impression that my PMs were going to be there tmrw.

    I don't pay google for gmail either - so i have no impression that gmail is going to be there tmrw either.

    I can understand your visual problems. Then I would suggest you nicely bring up that the current themes are not very user friendly for people with visual problems - I am quite sure you will get not only support from the netgate/pfsense side in working on a theme that is easier to read, but also suggestions from other users with the same sort of issues and what they use on their end to help. There many tools to rework a websites visual themes for different reasons regardless of what the site owners layout is.

    Calling staff Bozo's is not going to get you any help that is for sure.

    @johnpoz said in Tagging posts:

    Unless there is clear cut document giving sort of template and examples of what tags to use it can become pretty useless with just all kinds of freeform tags.

    You're making it way more complicated than it needs to be. If you start requiring documentation etc it'll never happen. Mods are trusted members of the community. I say we let them exercise their discretion.

    Yeah that should be fixed to refer to the new version. It isn't on 2.4.3 though, just 2.4.4 and now apparently 2.3.5-p2. I've just pushed a package update that will show up shortly to fix that.

    Hi,
    @Rango:

    Any update on taptalk addition. Can't find this forum in search.

    See
    @jdillard:

    It looks like Tapatalk harvest's user information from the database, so we definitely won't be using it.

    for details, even if they are a bit old now.

    Here is the official name meaning ;)
    https://www.netgate.com/blog/so-what-does-pfsense-stand-formean-anyway.html

    Scott came up with pfSense, pf being the packet filtering software used, as in making sense of pf.

  • Thank you for version 2.4.2
