@Antibiotic No it’s not possible with NtopNG as it is not a Netflow collector. You need nProbe for that which will “translate” recieved netflows into flows that NtopNG understands and can visualize (with very very little detail might I add as Netflows has no additonal information apart from sender/reciever and volume). The NtopNG package and the product in general is more geared towards visualising and recording traffic details from actual packet captures. This contains MUCH more metadata about the sessions than netflows (DNS names, protocol information and myriads of other things). But pffSense Plus has a builtin Netflow exporter if you have an external netflow collector on hand.

@jrey those pfb_*.sh files are the executables Thanks for clarifying the executables. I do not think that the hardware and table entry size won't be problem as the current configuration provides sufficient computation and memory for its operations. Pfsense is running in different hardware, e.g., Intel Xenon Platinum 8272CL processor and maximum table entries is set to 10 times than the default. pfSense Table Stats ------------------- table-entries hard limit 4000000 Table Usage Count 465931

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

Anyone else happen to notice that when configuring BFD, if you create a peer and select a profile - after save, re-edit the peer and the Profile is not represented. It appears as "None". You have to check the raw config to determine if the profile was actually assigned to the peer. This is on 2.8.1 (all packages up to date as of the date/time of this post). UPDATE: if re-edit and save (without re-configuring the profile none to what you want) - the save will strip the profile from the peer.

Hi All, I use HAProxy to redirect to a range of https internal resources, this works really well at the moment through the WAN where I have source limits set up, and I can connect to the internal resources from limited external IP Addresses. Given I have tailscale I would like to basically be able to put custom dns entries in to point these hostnames to my pfsense tailscale IP4 address (100.89.148.118) but I am not having any luck getting this working. At the moment, I am just trying to connect to HAProxy using https://100.89.148.118 but it is getting blocked by the firewall. Sep 11 11:55:58 tailscale0 Default deny rule IPv4 (1000000103) 100.89.148.10:53148 100.89.148.118:443 TCP:S I have tried with and without NAT redirecting internally to 127.0.0.1, and I also have rules set up to allow any traffic to and from my tailnets (defined in an alias) but I still keep getting these connections from my other tailscale machines being blocked on the pfsense machine. Can someone give me some pointers on what I am missing because I can see the requests are coming through to the pfsense machine, and in theory the rules should allow it through but I cant see why they don't. I do have tailscale ACL in place, but clearly that is not an issue as the requests are making it through to the firewall. 0/0 B IPv4+6 TCP/UDP TailNets * TailNets * * none Allow across Tailnets 0/0 B IPv4+6 TCP/UDP * * * 443 (HTTPS) * none Allow Tailscale IP4 I also tried adding a EasyRule but because the tailscale0 interface doesn't exist in pfsense it throws an error and won't let me add that rule. Appreciate any help or tips, Cheers.

For me, installing the Freeradius package fulfilled whatever dependencies were missing. That being said, I ceased using NTOP while still in 1.2.1. No idea if the problem was fixed by the time 1.2.2 was released. We're moving to a centralized network monitor anyway and will probably rely on SNMP traps for making pretty charts from now on.

I've done it with a new package I finished building yesterday called PHP Service. You can read more about from the following links. http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,13775.0.html http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/PHPService In the wiki snort example I added the following lines for your benefit. If you only want to log the Snort alert to the syslog then  comment out or remove the lines that are between 'begin close session' and 'end close session.' //– begin close session -------------- //-- end close session -------------- Hope this helps.

@jahonix: Since you don't give any kind of information about your system and how far you have tested this it is really hard to help. This is similar to: I can't use the trunk of my car. Can you help me? Please! … I have a second post running with lot's of info of my setup, but didn't have any response on that. I have a pfsense running in test, bridge mode, pinging worked etc. see: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,13677.0.html Installed pfsense, did no reboot since then. So i guess installing packages only starts working AFTER you installed the system AND rebooted. Makes sense because before the installation it's like a live cd. So if any others have this problem, maybe it's the same thing that got me :-) thx for the help though.

I'm the developer of the FreeSWITCH package I have 7 systems that I personally manage at the moment many of them SOHO. I've also helped many people get FreeSWITCH running from their pfSense machines. The provider I use is flowroute.com. I like them because you sign up, make a payment and pick a DID and you can use it within minutes and they are stable. Its a per minute provider but also has a plan for unlimited inbound. They allow as many lines as your bandwidth allows at 1 cent a minute per call. You can even send them your own caller id info. I use a Linksys SPA942. Which is a great phone for the price. It even supports voip encryption TLS and SRTP. Best place I have seen to get the SPA942 is http://www.ipphone-warehouse.com/. I've also used adapters like the Linksys pap2t which can convert voip extensions work with standard phones like a cordless phone. Lately been interested in trying a something other than the PAP2T because it doesn't support the ILBC codec which is very compressed and saves bandwidth looking at the Grandstream HandyTone HT-286 which does support ILBC. I haven't tried it yet but looks promising. I would like a new snom820 even more but it is triple the price and unfortunately not yet in my budget. The FreeSWITCH package on pfSense is relatively new but already has many advanced features such as an auto attendant. Example: Thank you for calling if you know your parties extension you can dial it at any time… " You can make your own recordings and set up as many options as you want. What many people don't know is that most auto dialers from call centers cant get past the auto attendant. This means all your sales calls disappear unless the call was hand dialed by a real person. Goodbye annoying sales calls. There are many of benefits for home or office. Give it a try! The documentation is available at: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/FreeSWITCH

I agree… Manage Engine's Netflow Analyzer Pro is the best... The free trial of one interface convinced the "powers that be" we needed this package as expensive as it is! The PDF reports are great, is a must for anyone who "multi-homes" it has nbar support, monitors your AS #... It is a solid product, we ran it on a 800Mhz Celeron Windows box for a week while we tested it, not the best performance, but it worked good enough til purchase! Its netflow aspect blows intermappers netflow collector out of the water! There are several cheap / free netflow collectors, just google it, but Manage Engine makes great stuff... We are even able to use a linksys running dd-wrt and export flows to my collector... I want to be able to use an embedded box, ALIX, and run pfflowd on it, creating a cheap and more robust netflow exported router! Any else managed to pull off pfflowd on an embedded image install!?!? I have soo many ALIX boards deployed with pfsense already... it would be soo great to export to my netflow analyzer!

It pings the WAN gateway but I can't remember how I know that - so I might be wrong. Google (cough, cough) for "pfsense rrd quality" points me to this thread as the first result: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=3470.msg30923 The above may have more information for you.

the reason i would like opensbc in pfsense compared to freeswitch is bcoz opensbc supports voip encryption and thats of concern to me as my isp blocks voip and opensbc xor encryption bypasses it. the bounty for opensbc was posted by me only but no1 completed it.
